COURSES (classroom based)

Our instructors have an extensive background in the healthcare field including over 15 years of basic and advanced life support teaching experience combined. We believe that human life is precious, therefore, healthcare providers as well as the general public should be well-equipped with the understanding and skills to handle a sudden emergency. We hope to make what seems like a daunting task, a fun and knowledge-filled experience. Saving is simple; let's not make it complicated.

For Non-Healthcare Professionals:

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR and AED

Recommended For: security and airline personnel, camp counselors, teachers/day-care workers, caregivers, etc. Basically ANYONE can take this course to be prepared for an emergency

 

Topics Covered:

  • Recognition and assessment of victim (i.e heart attacks, stroke, low blood sugars, etc)

  • Managment of bleeding wound

  • Muscle and Bone injuries

  • Falls/Fainting

  • Seizures

  • Asthma

  • Allergic reactions and anaphylaxis (EpiPen use)

  • Heat and Cold emergencies

  • Poison emergencies

  • CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use and special considerations

Heartsaver CPR/AED

Recommended For: ANY non-healthcare professional (i.e. family members of patiets at high risk for sudden cardiac arrest, fitness trainers, teachers, parents, babysitters, etc.) interested in learning Basic CPR skills.

 

This class consists of:

  • CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use in adults, children and infants.

  • AED safety and special considerations

  • Conscious and Unconscious choking victims

For Healthcare Professionals:

BLS

Recommended For: physicians, nurses, EMTs, medical or nusing assisstant, anyone whose work involves contact with others of the public (schools, fitness centers, hotel and restaurant employees)l. 

 

Topics Covered:

  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR (one and two rescuer) and AED use and special considerations

  • Basic Respiratory Management (pocket mask and bag valve use)

  • Choking in conscious and unconscious victims

 

ACLS

Recommended For: healthcare professionals and medical personnel who may respond to cardiovascular emergencies.

 

Topics Covered:

  • Airway management in respiratory and cardiac arrest

  • BLS and ACLS surveys

  • ACLS algorithms and pharmacology

  • Management of Acute Coronary Syndrome and Stroke

  • Experiencing what it is like to be a team leader as well as a team member in a resuscitation team ("megacode")

PALS

Recommended For: healthcare professionals who may respond to respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies in children and infants

 

Topics Covered:

  • Management of respiratory and cardiac arrest

  • BLS review

  • Airway management

  • Vascular access (i.e. I.O. training station)

  • PALS algorithms and pharmacology

  • Experience being the team leader and member in a resuscitation team ("megacode").
